Light discoloration at left edge entering the image; light foxing / discoloration visible only when holding up to the light; short separation at upper centre of sheet outside the plate mark.

The map, engraved by John Walker, was published in Sir William Edward Parry’s Journal of a Second Voyage for the Discovery of a North-West Passage. A fascinating map showing the extent of knowledge of the polar region. The upper tip of Scotland is shown at upper right corner; the island of Iceland is fully charted; the coast of Greenland is largely charted but with some gaps; the Bherings Strait (sic) is partially charted at upper left corner of the map. #56440
