Color pictographic / pictorial map poster, image 17 1/4 x 35 1/2 on sheet 18 1/2 x 36 1/2 inches. Archivally repaired tear entering 1 inch into the image at lower right edge, two other margin tears on that edge; light wear and creasing to edges; a few light creases in image area from rolling; small discoloration to upper centre margin. Colors are very bright, map displays very well.
Very decorative map by Parker Edwards in deep blues, burnt umber, pink etc. with little pictographs portraying life on these exotic islands. The flowers of Hawaii are pictured and named in the upper border and the fish of Hawaii in the lower border. With the poster is a “with compliments” label: “We are pleased to send this map of the Hawaiian Islands to you. It is done at the request of a friend of yours who was a recent visitor to our Dole Cannery in Honolulu – the world’s largest fruit canning plant.” #50296
