A stunning collection of 20 original square and rectangular decorative commercial designs for the Tabaco industries in gouache and watercolour by the artist and graphic designer R. Pichon and his Parisian studio Ateliers de Dessin & Lithographie R. Pichon. Each mounted on card inscribed with the design’s model number, with original glassine.

The cigar, cigarettes and pipe subjects includes an Indian, sailor, gentlemen, women, animals including abstract geometric motifs.
All in all a unique, striking, and colourful collection of Art Deco designs. The works are executed in a wonderfully characteristic Art Deco style.

The workshop of “R. Pichon. Ateliers de Dessin et Lithographie – 10, rue Rochechouart – Paris.

The artwork depicts a native American rising out of a cigar box and holding a cigar. Colours are bright and fresh.

The R.Pichon workshop was specialized in graphic design for advertising and R. Pichon, active in the years 1910-1940, was working for the Lorilleux printing house for which he realized many models in the 1920/1930.
Pichon also worked frequently for the magazine Caractère and mainly for special Christmas issues.
