Original vintage photo album book of The Soviet Arctic with descriptions in English issued for the World Fair in New York in 1939. Designed by the notable Constructivist artists Alexander Rodchenko (1891-1956) and Varvara Stepanova (1894-1958). Published in 1939 by The State Art Publishers Moscow and Leningrad (now St Petersburg). The cover features planes flying over the USSR camp in the snow with two red flags featuring a portrait of Stalin and the Soviet flag with a hammer and sickle and star emblem on it. The contents include black and white photographs with descriptions of the Soviet arctic expeditions to the Chukotsk Peninsula in the East and the Kola Peninsula in the West with a coloured map that indicates the polar exploration and development of the Soviet Arctic.

Very good condition, light stains and bumps on corners of the cover, unpaginated.
