The graphic focus of my vintage poster inventory is both decorative and historical. In seeking out unusual vintage poster images in these two categories, I have scoured the principal artistic movements of the 19thand 20thcenturies: Art Nouveau/La Belle Epoque, Art Deco and mid-Century Modernism. While taking a global perspective on posters from different periods, my penchant has been for American advertising posters, including those of the 1890’s which were the vanguard of the turn-of-the-century Postermania craze through the exciting 1920’s-1940’s.
Although always open to hear about vintage posters for sale [please contact me at MJWeinbaum@gmail.com], I am less interested in acquiring movie and war propaganda material.
While this is my first virtual show as an exhibitor, during my 45 years as a private dealer based in New York City, I have exhibited extensively in both the former Vintage Poster Fairs as well as Antique shows including “Modernism” and “Works on Paper”, both at the Park Avenue Armory venue. As a founding member of the International Vintage Poster Dealers Association, I have sought to educate new collectors on the benefits of dealing with established dealers whose familiarity with rarity and value can be of immeasurable benefit.
